After a week:
- “I’ve been having a pain in my stomach…”
- “THIS IS AN ANSWERING MACHINE. THE STUFF IS AT THE COMPUTER EDUCATION. IN A CASE OF EMERGENCY…”
- “Shouldn’t we go to an ultrasound test in a private clinic? If it’s an ectopic pregnancy…”
- “It’s expensive…” / – “Let’s pass some fags and pints so we can gather the money.”
- “But there’s the familiar midwife at the maternity clinic. We’ll get an appointment next week…”

“Hard pain in the stomach during the first weeks of pregnancy may originate from the fact that the pregnancy isn’t inside the uterus but in the fallopian tube. In this case you should quickly go to an ultrasound test where they can easily see if the pregnancy really is inside the uterus. The heartbeat can be detected in the pregnancy weeks 5-6. Infections and the mother’s smoking increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy.”
